When I moved to Dublin in 2023, I thought I was simply booking a place to stay through Hosting Power. Here’s the thing. I didn’t just find accommodation. I found a home and two people who quietly became family. My family and I were unsure at first. Living with strangers in a new country felt overwhelming. But within days, that fear disappeared. John and Fionn made space for me in a way that felt natural, not forced. They took me on my first grocery run, helped me get my Leap card, and showed me how everyday life worked. Small things, but when you’ve just moved countries, those small things mean everything.
They welcomed my food, my culture, and all my stories. They listened to my rants about university and encouraged me through my master’s. When I was sick, they cared for me the way my parents would have. Those first few weeks, I was homesick and cried more than I’d like to admit. Then slowly, without even realizing it, that feeling faded. Because the house didn’t feel temporary anymore. It felt safe. It felt steady. It felt like home. They made my first birthday away from family special. My first Easter. My first Christmas. Even my first Diwali away from home didn’t feel lonely because they made sure I celebrated and felt cared for. My stay ended, but our relationship didn’t. We still meet, still talk, still share life updates. That doesn’t happen with hosts. That happens with family.
If you’re lucky enough to stay with John and Fionn, you’re not just finding a place to live, you’re finding a safe, caring, and loving home. I couldn’t have asked for better hosts, and I’ll always be grateful for the year I spent with them.

My stay was peaceful, the room is spacious, the house is fully equipped for daily needs, the kitchen is large, and everyone in the house is welcoming.
Barbara and Gaye were incredibly nice people and living with them was just great. Everything I needed was there and they would always give me something or help me if I needed anything at all. The house is really cosy and the area is also good. Overall just a really good experience!

Had a pleasant stay. Landlady was very nice. Cost could be bit high for a studio though but overall I had very nice time there in the studio. I will recommend the place.
Kay was the loveliest host, and I was sad to move out. She was so so kind and genuine and always up for a chat. The house was always clean and warm. I have never had a better landlord/host.
I would recommend for anyone to stay with Kay!!

The environment is quiet and peaceful, yet very conveniently located near the DART station and several bus routes that provide easy access to many areas.
The true highlight, however, is the exceptional hospitality of Angela and Padrig. They are incredibly welcoming, attentive, and kind, making the entire experience even more special. I highly recommend this accommodation.

I had an absolutely wonderful four-month stay with my host, Jacinta, during my exchange semester and could not have asked for a better living situation.
The location of the house is excellent. Two bus stops can be reached in under ten minutes on foot, the city centre in about 30 minutes, Dublin Airport in roughly one hour, and University College Dublin in around 30 minutes as well (all by bus). The neighbourhood is extremely quiet, safe, and pleasant and is, without a doubt, one of the best residential areas in Dublin.
All essential amenities are within walking distance: a grocery store, pharmacy, hairdresser, and other daily necessities can be reached in less than ten minutes. There is also a nearby library, which was a perfect place to study and concentrate. In addition, a beautiful park close by offered great opportunities for runs and walks.
The house itself is very well maintained and tastefully furnished. It has a lovely garden and a spacious, open-plan kitchen with plenty of room and all the necessary equipment. My room and bathroom were excellent – fully equipped, clean, and comfortably warm throughout the entire winter.
Jacinta and her family are incredibly kind, welcoming, and warm-hearted people. I felt comfortable and well cared for at all times and was genuinely happy throughout my stay. The house was consistently calm and quiet during the week, which made it an ideal place to live and study. I truly felt at home from the very beginning.
Communication with Jacinta was flawless. She always replied very quickly, was easy to reach by phone, and was consistently helpful, considerate, and supportive. Her sons, who were occasionally at the house, were also very kind and always willing to help whenever needed.
I would return without hesitation. During my four months there, I met wonderful people and had an amazing overall experience. My living situation could not have been better, and I would wholeheartedly recommend renting this room to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Dublin.

Jo is friendly and understanding, and keeps a clean house where it is easy to feel welcome. Any requests can be worked out with a little communication, and it's in a well-connected location.
Mario and his family are super kind and helpful, the living with them was very nice, chill and I never had any problems. Mario is a good trip advisor too. They made my arrival and time here very pleasant. 5/5 stay and I can recommend for all.
